Next, Helén Williams, associate professor in Environmental and energy systems and researcher at Service Research Center, Karlstad University, Sweden, presents "Packaging Design for Reducing Food Waste". Helén emphasizes that packaging is more than just a container—it’s a service that must meet both producer and consumer needs. She’ll discuss why flexible packaging solutions are crucial for reducing food waste and why one-size-fits-all approaches no longer work in todays’ society. Her insights challenge conventional business models by considering the ever-changing landscape of sustainability and consumer behavior.

Christian van Maaren, the founder and CEO of Excess Materials Exchange will round out the discussion with his presentation"The Digital Key to Circular Material Flows". Christian will reveal how digital platforms can unlock the hidden value in excess materials, turning waste into profitable resources.
